Observations and Anecdotal Information
Bay Laruel Essential Oil’s strong stimulant capabilities has been used on many occasions to quickly drain peoples sometimes over-active lymphatic systems. On one such occasion, a teen-aged girl had awoken to painful swelling of her lymph nodes underneath her jaw. She was two days away from going on a family vacation and needed treatment as fast as possible.
She was then given a blend of bay laurel, everlasting, cypress and lemongrass essential oils diluted in jojoba oil. Upon instruction from an herbalist she applied it to her neck before wrapping it in a hot towel and sitting still for 20 minutes. She repeated this twice over the next 24 hours. The next morning after the compresses, and to everyone’s amazement, she awoke without any pain and had almost no swelling. The vacation was saved!
Ever since that day, Bay Laurel has become a staple in our healing blends for lymphatic draining, lymph stagnation or glandular infection, with astounding results. We can safely say that it is one of the best lymphatic decongestants ever.
Bay laurel also lowers blood pressure, thins blood, and relieves angina. It can be used internally (with extreme dilution!) to help clear blocked arteries, and can also be used as a suppository for rapid absorption.
