Sweet Basil
Sweet Basil Artisan Essential Oil
Sweet basil essential oil is known to relieve anxiety and nervous system fatigue, and it enhances memory and mental clarity.
Energetically, it opens the heart meridian, and clears out energetic blockages between the heart and hands. This enhancing property makes it a great oil to use in preparation for Reiki or other forms of energy healing as Sweet basil facilitates meditation.
When applied directly to the spine, sweet basil can stimulate spontaneous vertebral alignment in some cases. In other cases, when vertebrae are aligned manually, the application of this oil can extend the period that the alignment holds, preventing it from going back out again.

Observations and Anecdotal Information
Sweet basil essential oil is a Linalol chemo-type basil, which garners it its signature sweet aroma and flavor. It is also sometimes referred to as Genovese basil. The other chemo-types such as Methyl-Chavricol chemo-type and Eugenol chemo-type are referred to as Reunion basil and Holy Basil respectfully.
Energetically, sweet basil is a stimulator that can help us instantly become alert and awake when we are feeling fatigued. It is helpful for enhancing concentration and mental clarity. It has an affinity for the heart, and can help open the heart meridian and balance the energy of the heart.
It can also ease headaches, facilitate lymphatic drainage, and reduce sinus congestion from colds and viruses. Sweet basil makes a wonderful massage oil for relieving pain and relaxing tired muscles. It is especially nice to diffuse, as it has a sweeter and less medicinal fragrance than that of Holy basil.
It is also been known as a very beneficial addition to spinal oil treatments, as basil is highly anti-viral, anti parasitic, and antibacterial. Occasionally basil oils have been known to facilitate a spontaneous vertebral adjustment by applying to the spine with a hot compress for 20 minutes.
Sweet basil is great for supporting liver regeneration as well. It makes a fine compress on the liver for this purpose; and this process can also facilitate the relief of menstrual pain or cramping. Because it is very helpful for the adrenal glands, sweet basil can be useful for women experiencing PMS and menopause symptoms.
