Sweet Orange Essential Oil

Sweet orange essential oil is relaxing and calming to the  mind and emotions. It is a natural disinfectant, with antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. Diffusing it can uplift the atmosphere and purify the air.

It has a bright and cheery aroma, which has been known to be helpful for postpartum depression, and other forms of depression, and those with hormonal imbalances. Inhaling it can enhance mental clarity and concentration, and can have a calming and balancing for children and adults.

Observations and Anecdotal Information

Sweet orange essential oil is an incredibly versatile oil. When it’s diffused, sweet orange can blend and harmonize beautifully with many different aromatic types. It also is known to have purifying properties that can help cleanse the lymphatic system and relieve stagnation.

It also is known to help relieve toxicity from food poisoning. Taken internally with one or two drops of the oil blended with water, it may help relieve symptoms during food poisoning.

When used topically, sweet orange is even known to clarify the skin and promote the formation of collagen, making it a great additive to creams and sprays to repair aging or damaged skin. It is a balancing oil for the endocrine system, and helps support adrenal balance and regeneration.

Cautions

  • Avoid using within 24 hours of exposure to sunlight or UV light.  It can be photosensitizing to some people.

  • Store out of the reach of children.

  • Do not get essential oils in eyes

  • Pet information: Cats may not respond well to conifer oils and citrus oils. Avoid usage for cats.
