Blue gum eucalyptus essential oil was used to sterilize surgical equipment in the 1800’s, before chemicals came to replace it. This speaks of the disinfectant power of the blue gum.
It is a superb oil for opening airways and passages, clearing mucus from the respiratory system, and easing breathing. It has been used to treat infectious diseases, including, deep lung infections, malaria, flu, colds, bronchitis, rhinitis, and tuberculosis. It can be diffused and inhaled, or applied to the chest in a compress for any of those conditions.
It is a natural blood thinner and can increase circulation. It is often used as a relaxing massage oil as well. This a fantastic oil to spray or drip over a sauna, letting it turn to steam and fill the whole room with its aroma.
Blue Gum has retained the distinct aroma of the original eucalyptus plant from centuries before.
