Rosemary - Verbenon

from $6.67

Our artisan rosemary essential oil (verbenon chemotype) helps to open the heart center. Rosemary enables the release and processing of emotions such as grief, sorrow, sadness, and suppression. It is gently nourishing to the soul, and helps us “slow down” so that we can create time and space for ourselves to regenerate.

Inhaling it stimulates the brain, clears the memory, and relieves mental fatigue. It purifies the human energy field, helping us to feel clearer on the mental and emotional levels.

Observations and Anecdotal Information

Rosemary essential oil  (verbenon chemotype) makes a great oil for applying as a compress to the chest to clear congestion from lungs and bronchial tubes.  It opens breathing passages, breaks up congestion, and eases breathing.  It is relaxing and helps relieve coughing and spasm at the same time.

  • For nose polyps, apply a 2% dilution of essential oil with a cotton swab into the nostril.  Inhale deeply a few times. Repeat until the polyp diminishes.

  • Regenerative and tonic, rosemary oil was considered the herb of eternal youth in the Middle Ages in Europe.  It can be made into a tea or remedy and taken orally as a general anti-aging tonic.

  • Rosemary regenerates hair, and is great for some forms of baldness and hair loss.  Massage or spray a 4%-8% dilution into scalp before washing hair.  Let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes, then wash hair as usual.  I have seen this treatment bring a man’s hair  back substantially over just a few weeks, when hair loss had set in.

  • For ear aches, put 3 drops of rosemary in 1 teaspoon carrier oil. Put several drops into the ear canal, and massage the outer ear gently.

  • For bacterial infections, put pure rosemary essential oil in a capsule, as described here.

  • There have been some reports on the antimicrobial activity of this essential oil. For instance, Jiang et al.30 indicated that rosemary essential oil was very active against Staphylococcus epidermidis, S. aureus, B. subtilis, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and E. coli. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was found to range from 0.03% (v/v) to 1.0 (v/v) for all the test microorganisms. Other investigations reported that rosemary essential oil had a strong antimicrobial activity against S. aureus,32 and detailed the antimicrobial efficiency of the main rosemary essential oil components.
